Trends and Solutions in College and University Educational Technology

Mon 4:30 – 5:15PM — Chestnut B
Linda Woods,

Colleges and Universities face a variety of challenges including competition to attract and retain students and faculty, ensuring campus safety, demands for mobile access to courseware and administrative applications, and planning for learning continuity in the face of natural disasters and pandemic illness. As funding for education comes under pressure, Colleges and Universities seek new sources of revenue to fund investment in infrastructure, to deliver online learning, to provide ubiquitous wireless access and mobility applications.

The 2009 Horizon Report identified six technologies to watch:
1. Mobile Learning
2. Cloud Computing
3. Geo-Everything
4. Personal Web
5. Semantic-Aware Applications
6. Smart Objects

This session will address some of the problems, solutions, and technologies we’ve seen nationwide. We also hope you’ll take advantage of this opportunity to share your experiences and solutions.
